Our case studies course brings to life the theory from parts one, two and three of our introduction to pancreatic cancer course.
The course explores three different experiences:
- Someone who is eligible for surgery
- Someone who has inoperable pancreatic cancer and receives palliative chemotherapy
- Someone with advanced metastatic disease and has no active treatment
Each case study walks through each person’s pathway, from symptoms, investigations and diagnosis, through to treatment and symptom management.

Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for all healthcare professionals interested in finding out about the symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and symptom management of pancreatic cancer. It is designed specifically for healthcare professionals with some or no experience of pancreatic cancer. It is also a good refresher for those with more experience.
It has been designed to complement the learning from parts one, two and three of the introduction to pancreatic cancer course. We recommend taking these courses first, but they aren’t mandatory and you can take this course alone.
What will you achieve from taking this case studies course?
- Increase knowledge and understanding of the different pathways people with pancreatic cancer may experience
- Get an understanding of pancreatic cancer, from how it presents, and the symptoms associated with the disease, to treatment options and the ongoing supportive care needs of people with pancreatic cancer
- Grow confidence in supporting patients with pancreatic cancer
You will receive a certificate of completion at the end of course.

Do I need to complete the course in one session?
No. You can start the course and come back to it at a later date to complete it. The course will remember your progress.
Can I get CPD from taking part one of this course?
Yes, on completion of the course you will receive a CPD certificate with the date and time you completed the course which you can use for revalidation.
Do I need to take parts one, two and three of the introduction to pancreatic cancer course first?
This case studies course has been designed to complement the learning from parts one, two and three of the introduction to pancreatic cancer course. We recommend taking these courses first, but they aren’t mandatory and you can take this course alone.
