Introduction to pancreatic cancer online course
Our freshly updated three-part introduction to pancreatic cancer course provides an overview of pancreatic cancer, from how it presents, and the symptoms associated with the disease, to treatment options and the ongoing supportive care needs of people with pancreatic cancer. We now have a bonus case studies course to bring the theory to life from parts one, two and three of the course.
This course is designed for healthcare professionals with some or no experience of pancreatic cancer. It is also a good refresher for those with more experience.
Part one - symptoms, risk factors and diagnosis
In part one of the course we explore: how pancreatic cancer affects the pancreas, the signs and symptoms, risk factors, diagnosis and investigations, and staging.
Part two - treatment options
In part two of the course we share the different types of surgery for pancreatic cancer and the non-surgical treatment options including chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
Part three - symptom management
In part three of the course we discuss symptom management for pancreatic cancer including pain, fatigue, diet and the psychological and emotional impact of the disease.
Case studies course
Our case studies course brings to life the theory from parts one, two and three of our introduction to pancreatic cancer course. The three case studies walk through each person’s pathway, from symptoms, investigations and diagnosis, through to treatment and symptom management.
Each part of the course will take approximately 45 minutes – 1 hour 30 minutes to complete (dependent on existing knowledge).
You will receive a CPD certified course certificate upon completion.
